THE WINTER FALL

Many thanks for all of your thoughtful comments on my last post. Sometimes you just need to get things off your chest, you know?
And sometimes you just need to hunker down and finish your work, which is precisely what I've been doing.

I might not have discovered the answers to my problems, but I have found comfort in the basic premise that: I am doing what I love.
Despite the chaos, I will hold on to that for now.
Sometimes things need to fall apart in order to come together.

You will be happy to know that I've made a concerted effort to spend more time relaxing with my children, as well.
I don't want them to think of me as the "un-fun parent" later in life; the one that was all work and no play.

Next week, I will be on a plane headed across the Atlantic to spend the holidays with my husband's family in England.
Since I've been so busy with work and school, I've not had much time to consider logistics; namely we have no wet weather clothing! I've been ordering boots for all of us left and right, as my wellies just won't cut it in the cold. Any ideas how we should
haul a bunch of Christmas presents back and forth?
My children still believe...

More than anything I'm looking forward to leaving all of this stress behind. I want to relax, explore, and enjoy being with our family. We haven't been able to afford to go abroad in a few years, so this is big! The children and their cousins have been counting down the days. And for the first time ever, I haven't planned a thing other than finally allowing myself to slow down, getting back into taking photos for fun and enjoying a couple of days in London.
Luckily for me, my in-laws have all sorts of exciting plans for us.

All of that said, I know it will be a shock to fly directly into winter. Although the leaves have turned color and are piling up around our garden, it still feels like fall in Las Vegas. Not to mention, it has been 70 degrees the past few days! Snow and cold weather seem a world away.
Off to find my mittens, scarves and hats... I will try to check in before I leave.

I'm so excited for you. I have zero advice on the Christmas presents... Maybe Santa could come to your house and London? Just a thought. Happy Christmas.
