Gladiator

In less than one month, I will be headed to bella Italia where I will finally get to visit the great city of Rome. I have dreamt about going there my whole life, so I thought it might be nice to buy something special for the trip.

One of the things I love most about traveling is taking a city in on foot. I can walk and walk and walk... with the occasional stop for a quick revival like a glass of vino, a Peroni or a scoop of gelato.

Now normally, I'd wear my trusty Birks (gasp, quelle horreur, whatever- I like them!) but... this is Rome afterall, and I'd like to be a little more stylish like the Italians, so I bought some Gladiator sandals. They are comfortable, chic and well... Roman.

I just love the bluish-grey color and that sexy zip-up back. Don't you?

I may have just fallen in love with a pair of sandals. I, too, am in the market for some comfy yet stylish shoes/sandals. Although, I'll probably get away with more in Hungary than you will in Rome :).

Cute!!

(I would be ashamed to show you the rubber flip flops that will be accompanying my feet to Corsica...)

Damn, another shoe post.

I like them a lot, but they don't look that comfortable. Have you walked in them yet?

They are surprisingly comfortable - but I haven't spent an entire day walking in them yet, so I'll let you know!

Very, very lovely- alas, I cannot pull off the gladiator sandals. My legs are disproportionately short, and wearing shoes like this make me look like I have stumps for legs- sexy.

Have some prosecco in Rome for me...

Those sandals are great!

And you'll love Rome! It's SUCH a gorgeous city...so much to see.

And the gelato is ridiculously good! When I was there, my favorite gelato shop was next to Trevi Fountain ...it's amazing I didn't come back weighing 800lbs. :-)

I LOVE those and I usually turn my nose at gladiators. Super cute and I think the color is just perfect. Hoping they are as comfortable as your birks. You just made me wonder where my old birks are, damn those were the most comfortable shoes I ever owned.

Can't wait to hear all about Rome. It is such a magnificent place.

I don't think the originals had zippers, did they?

Also, I think I said this the last time you were going to Italy--you suck! That's just not fair. The most exotic place I ever get to go is Barstow.

Those are really cool. And how fun that you are dressing for the place you are visiting! I would love to go to Rome, but alas it is not in the cards right now.

And I love your new look on the site!

i'm thinking these sandals would make my ankels look even fatter. But then again, flip flops make my ankles look quite plump.

thank you for such a wonderful conversation the other evening. I truly enjoyed talking to you my friend.

Those are HOT. Good thinking not bringing the birks. I tried that in Spain once and got the dirtiest looks on the Metro. And btw, I am very jealous!
