I am pleased to report that Ava is recovering nicely. On Saturday, we saw her pediatrician again and he said everything appeared to be healing properly. The swelling is finally gone around her eye and her good demeanor has returned. One bandage is off for good as of this morning, but the other three will still take time, as they were the worst ones. Regardless, I'm feeling positive again and the guilt is starting to wear off.
It certainly helped to have all of your support and kind comments. It seems that nearly everyone has a horror story from something that they (or their parents) did when they were young. If nothing else, I learned a lot of lessons last week! We are still taking it easy and I'm keeping her home from school another day or so.
I'm also really happy to share that I FINALLY finished editing the 4,500 photos from the huge Chicago wedding. I feel like the heaviest weight has been lifted from my shoulders. The bride and groom are thrilled with them, which makes me even happier! Several Chicago magazines were interested in running a spread about the wedding, so if it happens, then I can finally share more of the photos. But right now, I'm ready to go back into retirement again after all of that.
And finally, later this week I will tell you about my new nephew and my first trip away without my children. Hopefully I can talk my sister into letting me post a photo or two! Until then... Happy Monday!

Glad to hear things are getting back to normal and Ava is doing well. I really hope you do get to share those wedding photos!
And baby photos too... yes please!
I'm glad Ava is recovering and things are going back to normal. Congrats on getting all those photos edited- no easy feat!
I am really happy to know that Ava (and you!!) are recovering nicely. What a relief to have ALL those pictures done. Now I can start submitting projects to you :D
However, I really wish you never showed me that bedding and bedroom set. That kind of scarred me.
I'm so happy to hear Ava is doing better!
What a tremendous weight off your shoulders- both the healing and the pictures. I'm thrilled things are looking up for you guys!
Welcome to back to normal!
Seriously, what is normal anymore.?!...
I'm so glad Ava is doing better and quite glad for you your project is completed. What a major feat completed!
OMG I just scrolled down and saw what I've been missing (internet down -AGAIN). What a little toughie that Ava is ! And I love the pic of you guys all together.
I'm glad you're feeling better...
I'm SO GLAD you guys are feeling better!
And 4500 Photos?!?! That is CRAZY!
Cool news about the spread, though :)
glad things are back to full speed. :)
I am so happy to read that Ava is recovering well. As well as you. Children are resilient and forget easily, Parents guilt can go on and on an on.
I hope we do get another peek at the Chicago wedding. It looked so fabulous. Although I could not imagine going through 4500 photos and editing them...
